Kyle Hanson is a meteorologist for Bay News 9.

Kyle’s passion for weather started at a young age as he grew up watching nor'easters and post-tropical systems on the New England coast.

He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Meteorology from North Carolina State University, then landed his first TV job as a weekend meteorologist and reporter in El Paso, Texas at KVIA. From there, he moved to the northern Gulf Coast as the weekday morning meteorologist for WPMI in Mobile, Alabama. There he gained valuable experience tracking hurricanes Sally and Zeta during the active 2020 hurricane season.

Kyle joined Bay News 9 in October 2022 and is excited for the challenges that come with forecasting weather on the Gulf Coast.

Outside of work, you'll see Kyle on the golf course, at the beach, or paddleboarding. He's also a big fan of traditional country music and two stepping.

You can follow Kyle on Twitter @KyleHanson_WX and on Facebook as Kyle Hanson WX.
