DELAND, Fla. — Off a mostly sleepy street in DeLand, sits a home on the register of historic places. This home was once a residential home, but has since been transformed into an antique shop that may interest those who enjoy dabbling in the paranormal.

What You Need To Know

  • The Haunted Antique Shop in DeLand doubles as a paranormal museum

  • Owner Corinne Kenner loves sharing the spooky sightings in her store

  • Kenner purchased her shop just four years ago after moving to the area in search of a spot to write her latest book

And if you are one of those paranormal loving explorers, there is no better person to help you in your search of the mystic than the owner of the Haunted Antique Shop, Corinne Kenner.

“I have hundreds of different cards I have used over the years in my tarot readings,” Kenner said.

Kenner is a certified astrologer and tarot card master, not to mention an author who has written her fair share about the paranormal and odd things that have taken place inside her shop. She purchased her shop just four years ago after moving to the DeLand area in search of a spot to write her latest book.

“I was actually looking for an office space where I could write and this little vintage shop came up for sale, so I thought I could write when I didn’t have customers and then stretch my legs whenever someone came in, but about a month after we moved in we noticed the shop was what we like to say, gently haunted.”

Things moving in her cabinet of curiosities like the haunted “Charlie doll”, a strange, but friendly woman roaming the shop, and doors opening and closing unexpectedly were just a few of the things Corrine and guests who set foot in the shop experienced.

It’s safe to say this little antique shop is the perfect spot to visit this Halloween season. A spot to take a walk into the paranormal with an experienced guide open to all things strange and otherworldly.

“It’s been so gratifying to get to know other people who have mystical experiences and to provide a safe space where people can share their ghost stories and the things that have happened to them,” Kenner said.

The Haunted Antique Shop and Paranormal Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Their hours are from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. For more information on their shop and upcoming classes and events, be sure to visit their website
