LAND O' LAKES, FLA -- Aiseen Reyes has worked at Land O' Lakes High School for four years. She's been an educator on and off for 24 years. She teaches English in the school's special education department. Reyes is dedicated to helping her students succeed.

That's why one of them nominated her to be an A+ Teacher.

“She’s the best teacher I’ve ever had," said Caleb Ellerbee, a junior in Miss Reyes' class.

We caught up with Reyes to learn more about why teaching is her passion. She says she loves helping students reach their goals. The key is taking things one day at a time.

"Many times they’re lacking skills behaviorally that impede them from learning how to read and how to write especially. And that is something that I have the patience for and I love it when I am able to deliver to them the understanding," said Reyes.

She has a way of connecting with her students and inspiring them to work hard. She wants them to succeed in whatever they choose to do in the future.

“The only thing I’ve ever wanted is for my students to just be successful, be happy in whatever journey," said Reyes.

Reyes helps them build upon the skills they're learning in class so they can apply them to life outside of school.

“I want them to feel empowered when they leave high school, that they can accomplish anything. Because it’s a challenging world out there," said Reyes.
