HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Water Resources has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers in a large area of south-central Hillsborough County.

You can view a map of the affected area here.

Water pressure in the Hillsborough County Utility service area outlined in the map above fell below 20 psi Tuesday morning due to a power issue.

The general boundary of the affected area is south of SR 60 and east of I-75. The low pressure impacted approximately 95,000 Hillsborough County water connections.

Water service has been restored, but customers in the affected area are advised to boil water as a precautionary measure until further notice.

A rolling boil of one minute is enough. Cool before using. As an alternative, bottle water may be used.

Allow the water to run until it is clear before washing clothes, and discard any ice from automatic ice-makers.

This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
