Central Florida's newest thrill ride — the state's tallest and fastest launch coaster — is also inspiring all new theme park foods.

  1. The VelociCoaster debuts at Universal's Islands of Adventure. With a total of 12 seconds of airtime and an 80-degree drop from a 155-foot "top hat," riders better be prepared for a journey unlike any other in town.

  2. The coaster is inspiring new “num nums,” thanks, in part, to creative minds, like Universal Orlando Parks' top chef, Jason Glus.

  3. Chef Glus prepared about 10 new offerings for us, including the Costa Rican Casado Burger, the Blue Churro (names after Blue, “the oldest of the raptors), and the Island Nectar Refresher (made exclusively for Universal by Coca-Cola).

  4. Theme park guests can also chomp into Churro Stand Doughnuts. “[They're] dulce de leche-stuffed doughnuts with a little bit of cinnamon and sugar,” Chef giggles.

  5. The themed food and drink offerings are peppered throughout the park, including at VooDoo Doughnuts and at the Jurassic World Tribute Store.
