SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — State wildlife officers are looking for a boat suspected of striking a jet-skier on Lake Monroe on Saturday morning and failing to stop.

According to investigators, Lake Mary resident Reid McMenamy was on a jet ski at about 10:30 a.m. when he was struck by boat, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators say.

The driver of the boat didn't stop and was last seen heading south on Lake Monroe.

The 43-year-old McMenamy was helped by two good Samaritan vessels that stopped and gave aid. McMenamy was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he died.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and the Seminole County Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.

FWC officials are now looking for a white boat with a black motor that may have fresh damage.

"We're looking for a vessel that is approximately 16 to 18 foot center console style vessel or fishing boat, and it was heading south on Lake Monroe," FWC spokesman Chad Weber said.
