Plant High School has its own custom Nike shoe.

No, seriously.

Nike, one of the world's largest suppliers of athletic shoes and apparel, announced the Oct. 22 launch of Nike Zoom Speed Trainer 2 'Plant High School', a shoe paying homage to the four-time football state champions. The shoe costs $100 and is available for online purchase on 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Plant's black and gold colors dominate the shoe, with a while, speckled trim around the midsole. "Plant" is written on the back heel, with custom paw prints underneath. The team's motto "strength through unity" is featured on the inside tongue.

"I spent a long time designing those with Nike," Plant head football coach Robert Weiner said. "I think they turned out pretty cool."

Only 500 shoes were made. Nike sold out of the custom kicks in less than 30 minutes after the release Wednesday morning. One listing on eBay has the sneakers selling for $1,200.

Plant is considered one of the top high school football programs in the country. They're currently No. 1 in BHSN's Top 20 High School Football poll.

The school's football uniforms are sponsored by Nike.
