Shelton Quarles and Reidel Anthony are juniors at Carrollwood Day school. They are best friends on and off the football field, helping each other get better at a game they love.

Shelton prefers defense and Reidel offense, sound familiar Bucs fans? It should, Shelton Quarles and Reidel Antony are not only juniors on the field but off it as well, they are the sons of former Bucs players Shelton Quarles Sr. and Reidel Anthony Sr. who were also former teammates like their kids with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"If you have the name of a successful parent people automatically assume you will turn out like they did once upon a time,"

Pressure to be like their former NFL dads is not something either of these kids feel, and having the same name as there popular fathers is not a burden to them either.

"He told me at a early age that he just wanted to be himself" Said Shelton senior, he didn't want to be the son of Shelton senior so I knew he wanted to make a name for himself.

Shelton senior was a linebacker for the Buccaneers for 10 seasons and now serves as the teams Director of Pro Football Operations, Reidel Anthony senior played five seasons at wide receiver for the Bucs and  trains high school, college, and pro athletes at Applied Science and Performance Institute (ASPI) in Tampa.

You can see one or both of the former players on any given Friday night cheering for their sons at Carrollwood Day, "I'm the quiet one", says Anthony senior.

"I love playing in front of my dad" says Shelton junior, we get to talk after the game and dissect what I did, I love it".

If having former pro football dads wasn't enough, both boys are coached by former Bucs wide receiver Mark Jones, a teammate of both of the kids fathers in Tampa.

"Having both of those guys, former players who understand the game can bring a lot of expertise and it's always good to talk to somebody who understands football"

While it may be an unusual situation, this small football school benefits from all of the knowledge it can get from these former players.

"Anything I can pass on is a blessing" Says Anthony senior. Ironically both dads would have preferred their sons played baseball, Shelton junior actually does play baseball for the Patriots but will pursue division one college football. Reidel Anthony senior was avery good high school baseball player back in the day, but choose football as his path, his son is choosing the football rout with the hope of landing a division one scholarship.
