TAMPA — Fans are coming out in droves to support the Bucs, but not many have been with the team since its inception.

With one look inside Anne Copeland’s “she shed,” you can see that she’s a Bucs super fan.

"I have been a fan since the beginning of the team,” Copeland said.

Since 1976, she’s been to nearly every home game and many on the road.

“I’ve been to close to all of them in town and I’ve been to every NFL city to watch them play,” Copeland said. “I’ve been the top of the mountain and in the valley.”

Her ultimate highlight was watching the Bucs wins their first Super Bowl in 2003. She went solo and without a ticker, but found her way to watch the Bucs hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

"I went to the Super Bowl in San Diego,” Copeland said. "I didn’t have a ticket when I left, but I got one. And I saw them the first time they played in London.”

But it’s not just about the highlights on the field, Copeland has also seen first-hand how the Bucs have impacted the community.

"I worked at Twin Lakes Elementary for 41 years in the Special Education department and we became a Buccaneer academy,” she said. "To see all of the things the team does for the children and in our community that people have no idea — to me, that’s a highlight.”

That’s one of the many reasons why Copeland has been such a loyal fan. Another goes back to her childhood.

"Part of it stems back to the fact that my dad and I had a special bond with watching football together,” Copeland said. "When he was still with us, we would go to Bucs games together. So every time I go to a game, I still feel that bond.”

A passion she has passed on to her son. They’ve made a pact to be at Super Bowl 55.

"We want to do this together, so one way or another, we’ll be there.”
