D23 Expo: Tron Lightcycle ride coming to Disney's Magic Kingdom

It’s official: The rumored Tron Lightcycle Power Run attraction is coming to Walt Disney World.

The ride, which first opened in Shanghai Disney Resort, will be built in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom in a new area near Space Mountain.

Tron Lightcycle has become of the most popular attractions at the Shanghai park.

The decision makes sense as Disney incorporates more of its properties in its U.S. parks. The company tried to bring the world of Tron back to life with 2011's Tron Legacy, but the film was a box office disappointment. There were also plans to make a third film in the franchise, but those plans eventually fell through.
