In the long-standing tradition of the Boone-Edgewater rivalry, the 66th edition may go down in history as the wildest meeting between the two schools ever.

The #14 Boone Braves used a furious 21 point 4th quarter to defeat the #17 Edgewater Eagles 35-27 in front a raucous crowd at Dr. Norton Baker Stadium on the campus of Boone in Orlando.

The Braves kept the "Boone-Edgewater Spirit Barrel" for the 5th time in the last 6 meetings with the Eagles.  Edgewater now leads the all-time series 43-21-2.

Braves running back Dai' One Creal rushed for 196 yards on 26 carries and scored 4 touchdowns and was selected as the  Spectrum Sports Player of the Game.

The key play of the game came on 4th and 7 from the Eagles 40 yard line as Boone senior quarterback Jaxsen Anagnostis threw the ball to senior wide receiver Gene Nobles to the Edgewater 2 yard line with 1:45 left in the game down by 6 points.  Creal punched the ball in from there to give the Braves a 28-27 lead.

Boone senior cornerback Jack Dixson returned an R.J. Harvey pass for a touchdown to give the Braves a 35-27 lead.

Braves senior defensive end C.J. Reeves sealed the deal with his 2nd sack of the night at time expired.

Both teams have qualified for the FHSAA playoffs that begin next week.

Boone (8-2) will play in the 8A playoffs, while Edgewater (8-2) will play in the 7A playoffs.
