Moms like Charity Lo Giudice are getting their first look at "Legends of the Night Sky," part of the summer break laser matinee series at Seminole State College's Buehler Planetarium.

"I love learning about Orion," said Giudice, who lives in Sanford. "That's my favorite constellation."

Families can get a double-helping of planetarium double features this week. The shows feature Orion and Perseus.

"My 10-year-old really digs the astronomy," Susan Leavens of Lake Mary said. "She even has her own telescope at home. We spend a lot of time outdoors watching the stars."

The double-features include "Legends of the Night Sky" and a guided tour of our Solar System, utilizing the planetarium's fulldome video system. While the event is open to everyone, the laser shows are most appropriate for ages 12 and under.

Buehler Planetarium is on the smaller side for a planetarium -- a 30-foot dome with seating for about 60.

"We are one of the few planetariums in the entire world with a completely live and interactive show catalog," said Buehler Planetarium Coordinator, Michael McConville.

Inside a surprisingly small projector, mirrors and lenses shift their position many, many times a second.

"From just three different colors of light, we're able to produce an entire universe of images," McConville said.

While this is happening in the daytime, adults this Saturday can also rock down memory lane:
