A Seffner man has been brought back to Hillsborough County to face charges in connection with his wife’s death.

Christopher Belcher, 43, was arrested last week in Greenville, South Carolina. Hillsborough County detectives picked up Belcher Friday afternoon.

Belcher’s wife, Gwendolyn Belcher, was discovered in a burned vehicle near the intersection of Taylor Road and Pruett Road on September 16.

According to an arrest affidavit, Belcher had a fight with his wife the night before her body was found. Police say Christopher Belcher's young daughter told them "she heard multiple screams coming from Gwendolyn "Chris stop!"

The arrest affidavit also details physical evidence taken from inside the home the Belchers' shared. Deputies say blood spatters found around the home matched Gwendolyn's DNA and some were even mixed with blood that belonged to a male.

Belcher faces charges of second-degree murder and arson of an occupied structure (vehicle) with no bond.
