Manatee County High School student Sam Vrinios doesn’t have your typical high school side job.

The 15-year-old freshman at Lakewood Ranch High school runs a full-time business.

It's in the video game industry. And business is booming.

"We can customize it to your favorite logo,” said Vrinios.  “Your favorite team, your company logo, your gamer tag from XBOX, your PS3 tag, anything you want."

Vrinios paints and custom designs XBOX and PS3 controllers. He started the business a year and a half ago. He said when he posted his creations on YouTube, business took off.

"I thought I'd do well, but not this well," said Vrinios.

He’s now selling these controllers to people all over the world.

From France to Sweden to folks in the United States, he said there is a huge demand for the devices. The controllers range from $90 to $320, depending on what custom options you choose.

While he's at school, his father, Pete, helps him out.

"I do the shipping, the customer service, and things like that," said Pete Vrinios.

He said he home schooled his son until he was in 8th grade. Until recently, he wasn't sure what he'd do next.

“He gave me something to do,” said his father.  “I joke that you better treat your kids even more special, ‘cuz you never know when you'll be working for them."

Vrinios has already sold more than 2,500 of the custom controllers and brought in more $250,000. But he doesn’t plan on spending the money anytime soon.

"I have no clue yet,” said Vrinios.  “I’m storing it away.”

As of now, all orders are made online. However, the family is considering opening a store in Manatee County in the future.
