Challenger K8 School of Science and Mathematics was temporarily placed on lockdown Friday morning after a teacher allegedly left the campus yelling, Hernando County School District assistant superintendent Sonya Jackson confirmed.

According to Hernando County Sheriff's spokesperson Sgt. John Cameron IV, a male teacher was angry, said "some loud words" and left the campus at 13400 Elgin Boulevard in Spring Hill. The campus was placed on a "modified lockdown" as a precaution.

Cameron said no laws were violated and the teacher will not be subject to legal repercussions. Any disciplinary action for the teacher will be left to the Hernando County School District.

The teacher has not been identified. Cameron said the teacher has a child who attends the school.
