Another person has been arrested in the brutal attack on an Army sergeant that happened earlier this month near MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.

According to the Tampa Police Department, a third teenager has been arrested in connection with the attack. A fourth suspect is still being sought.

Officials announced the arrest of Jared Richardson Monday morning.

Richardson, 18, of Brandon, is the third teenager arrested in the attack of  Sgt. Johnny Aparicio. The attack happened in the early morning hours May 13 near Iowa Avenue and Renellie Drive. The men asked him for a dollar and when Aparicio replied, the three men, joined by a fourth suspect, began punching and beating him.

The beating was captured on surveillance video, which police released to the media and generated national attention.

Arrested earlier this week, Geroshe Lewis, 18, a Tampa Robinson High School senior and Tampa resident, and Lerome Howard, 18, of Sulpher Springs were each charged with aggravated battery and robbery.

Richardson, facing battery and robbery charges, is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on $15,000 bail. Lewis also remains in jail but Howard bonded out on $15,000 on Saturday.

The video shows four men hitting and kicking Aparicio before they went through his pockets and took his cell phone and wallet. Aparicio eventually got up and was able to knock on a neighbor's door and call 911. He was treated at a local hospital.

Authorities said Aparicio was recently assigned to the U.S. Central Command at MacDill. The neighborhood where the assault occurred is not known as a high-crime area.

Officials said Richardson was behind the wheel of the getaway car, a 2002 Chevy Impala. Tampa Police officials said the violent nature of the crime made finding the suspects a priority.

"The shock value of the video puts law enforcement on high alert,'' said Lt. Mary O'Connor. "That we can't have these people roaming the streets. We have an obligation to protect the citizens of Tampa and that those four vicious suspects out there, we have to make swift arrests if we can."

Richardson is expected to face a judge on Tuesday on charges of robbery and aggravated battery. Lewis will make a second court appearance on Tuesday as prosecutors are trying to get his $50,000 bond revoked. Howard bounded out of jail on Saturday. His bond could be revoked.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Aparicio has been released from the hospital.
