The suspect in a Wal-Mart robbery Wednesday left his foot sticking out a bit too far for a Manatee County Sheriff's K-9 deputy.

According to a MCSO arrest report, a K-9 deputy tracked Darryl Morgan, 43, after he allegedly stole merchandise worth $1,211 from a Wal-Mart and fled the scene. Palmetto Police officers were tracking Morgan on foot first, but lost him, deputies said.

K-9 Deputy "Nitro" responded to the scene, tracked Morgan to a home and found him hiding under a table in a house's car port.

Morgan's leg was sticking out from underneath the table. Nitro bit down on Morgan and pulled him out from under the table.

He was arrested, treated on scene and taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Morgan now faces charges of retail grand theft, resisting arrest without violence and burglary.
