One group that apparently won't be protesting in the center of activity around the Republican National Convention is Occupy Tampa.

Members told the Tampa Bay Times the group is working on other ways of being effective outside the official protest zone.

According to the Times, members discussed various protest ideas at the first meeting of regional Occupy groups held in Gaslight Park on Saturday. Suggestions included causing traffic jams by driving slowly on area bridges and holding demonstrations outside venues where visiting politicians are expected.

Occupy groups in other Bay area cities say they're still deciding whether to join the event zone or come up with alternate ways to convey their message.

Although the Tampa group plans to stay out of the event zone as a whole, individuals may still join the mass demonstrations, a group member told the Times.
