Voters in Citrus County cast their ballots in several statewide and local races on Tuesday.

Winn Webb won the Republican primary in the sheriff's race. He will face Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy in the general election.

Sandy Balfour defeated Robert John Cummins II in the Republican primary for the Superintendent of Schools.  Balfour will square off against current Superintendent of Schools Sandra Himmel in November.

Two of the three county commission races have been called, with Joe Meek keeping his District 3 seat in the county commission and Scott Adams winning the primary for the District 5 seat.  Adams has won the county commission seat that was vacated by Webb when he announced his candidacy for the county's top law enforcement job.
