Residents and commuters can now get the latest information on street closures, parking options and hospitality associated with the Republican National Convention through a customer service call center.
The city of Tampa began staffing the center Monday and will keep it operational 24 hours a day through Friday, Aug. 31. The convention runs from next Monday through Friday, and the call center number is 1-866-762-8687.

Tampa city officials are also encouraging residents, businesses and visitors to sign up for Alert Tampa to receive important information and emergency notifications by email, mobile device or land-line phone. People can sign up at tampagov.net/AlertTampa or by phone at (813) 231-6184.
