In another sign that former Florida governor Charlie Crist is no longer a Republican, he is now throwing support behind President Obama.
In an editorial in Bay News 9's partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, Crist said Obama is the "right leader for our times."
Crist goes on to say that Obama served as the nation's calm through a "historically turbulent storm."
In his editorial, Crist takes the Republican Party to task, saying some party members have moved so far to the extreme right they are incapable of governing for the people.
The move comes ahead of a rumored Crist move to the Democratic Party.
