The Seminole Campus at St. Petersburg College is a buzz as it prepares to host President Barack Obama.

On the heels of the Democratic National Convention,  President Barack Obama is bringing his campaign to the college Saturday.

He will make an appearance at the campus's Natural Habitat Park Field.

“It’s the real deal, we’d like to think it’s all been practice and once he got renominated he chose us first to start his campaign, so that’s how we’re playing it,” Dr. Bill Law, President of St. Petersburg College, said.

Law said he’s still not sure why the president chose his college, but he sure is happy he did.

“The real problem for me is not that students are either republican or democrat," said Law. "It’s that students don’t participate so anything that gets students involved in the process I’m all for.”

The group of people who waited outside in line for tickets on Wednesday felt the buzz.

Many are folks who live in Seminole and want to see the President for the first time.

“I think it’s important for Seminole to be noticed, and we’ll sure be noticed nationwide, and it’s a wonderful campus,” Craig Myers, an Obama supporter, said.

Some students, even those in their 40s, got in line to support the man they say supports them.

“I’m, like, 41, so to go to school in this era of my life and to think about paying off my student loans is a big thought, but I knew I had to do it so it’s good to have a president in office who cares about that,” Cynthia Morris, a St. Petersburg College student, said.

President Obama will take over the center of the Seminole campus of St. Petersburg College starting on Saturday morning.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.

Tickets will be given on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 5.  To pick up your ticket, visit one of the following locations:
