A Clearwater teenager has been charged with aggravated child abuse after police said she shot and seriously injured another teenager with a stolen gun.

The 13-year-old girl, who is not being identified because it is not known if she will be charged as an adult, was arrested in connection with the Aug. 2 shooting.

According to reports, the girl and several other teens were playing with the Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun when the girl shot Ryan Greenlee, 15

The girl told detectives she intended to scare Greenlee, and she didn't realize the gun was loaded, the report said.

The girl and another 15-year-old boy are facing additional charges of armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm and dealing in stolen property

Police said the gun used in the shooting had been stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue the night before.

Detectives said they determined that the two teenagers had brought the gun to the home and were responsible for the vehicle burglary, as well as other vehicle burglaries.
