Last month, Joseph Bryant was working on the family SUV in his Tampa driveway with his dad, John.

Out of nowhere, the Ford Bronco John Bryant was working on collapsed and rolled on top of him.

"It grabbed my shoulder and it pushed me down hard," John said. "I felt the bones cracking in me. I just started hollering because I was losing my breath. It kept rolling. If it went down lower the doctor said it would have killed me."

Luckily, Joseph escaped injury and quickly noticed his father was in trouble.

"It was like very quick. I just knew I had to help him out," said Joseph.

John suffered many injuries, including broken ribs and collar bone and a punctured lung.

Paramedics who responded to the scene said the outcome would have been sadly different if Joseph hadn't taken fast action.

John was in the hospital for a week, hoping all the while to be home in time for Christmas to see his 2-year-old granddaughter, Aleeah, and other family.

Luckily, he made it home in time to count his blessings.

Joseph doesn't consider himself an Everyday Hero for saving his father, but don't tell that to his grateful dad.

"When he came to the hospital, I said 'thank you.' I told him I loved him, too. I do love him. I appreciate that he was there for me," John said of his son.
