A St. Petersburg man is facing charges after police said he shot and killed another man during an argument early Saturday morning.
Andres J. Torres, 26, is facing charges of second-degree homicide in the death of Eddy Vasquez, 27.
According to police, the two men became involved in an argument at 4 a.m. in the 300 block of Third Street S. At some point, they said Torres pulled out a gun and shot Vasquez in the upper torso.
Vasquez was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where he died from his injuries shortly after 6 a.m.
Torres was arrested at his apartment on Fourth Street S. Police said they recovered a firearm from his apartment, and that Torres was not cooperative with police.
The investigation continues.
