Power service was interrupted Monday for about an hour to 700 customers in the Westshore area, including three schools.

According to TECO, a squirrel is partly to blame for the outage.

One witness says the electrcity went out shortly after a large explosion around 8:20 a.m.

The affected schools were Jefferson High, Roland Park Magnet and and LaVoy Exceptional Center. The Millennium Westshore apartment complex also was without electricity

TECO restored the power late Monday morning.

Florida's public schools started FCAT testing this morning.
