Busch Gardens says it's going to announce some "big news" June 11, and it apparently will involve a major new ride.

As noted by the Tampa Bay Times, theme park bloggers have been speculating for months that an extra-tall drop ride will be coming to the park next year.

The wording of the June 11 press conference invitation seems to hint at just such a thing: "Be among the first to hear the biggest news that's been dropped in years," it says.

Last year, ParkRumors.com posted a trademark application filed by Busch Gardens for the name Desert Dive and plans filed with the Southwest Florida Water Management District for a drop tower-style attraction in the Timbuktu section of the park.

The last major ride to open at Busch Gardens was the Cheetah Hunt steel roller coaster in May 2011.
