The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has released additional information about Saturday's death of a 3-year-old child in Palmetto.

Deputies said an autopsy showed Kyrese Dwayne Anderson died of hyperthermia after remaining in a hot car for several hours.

Deputies discovered the unresponsive child at a residence in the 2700 block of 5th Ave. E. in Palmetto.

Detectives determined the child was in a vehicle for approximately three hours while family members attended a funeral.

The mother and father of the victim drove separate cars to the babysitter's house to drop off their children before they went to the funeral.

Anderson was left in the car while the other children, ages 4 and 5, went into the babysitter's house.

The parents left for the funeral believing all the children were in the residence.

When they returned from the funeral hours later, they discovered the child and called 911.

No one has been charged.

The family is from Lehigh Acres and is in town for the funeral.
