A Valrico woman died Monday morning after she was thrown from her motorcycle in Tampa.
The crash happened at 6:41 a.m. on Bayshore Boulevard near Orleans Avenue S.
Kristi N. Phifer, 29, was riding her 2013 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle south on Bayshore Boulevard when police said she went wide due to the curve in the roadway.
Her motorcycle entered the bicycle lane and struck the raised concrete curb, then passed through standing water, causing Phifer to lose control, police said.
Phifer was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a raised concrete monument, police said.
Phifer, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
