A Bradenton man was arrested after officials said he secretly videotaped a young woman in his bathroom.

Arnoldo Martinez, 54, was arrested on charges of felony video voyeurism.

Deputies said Martinez told them he had placed a hidden camera in the bathroom to determine whether the 22-year-old woman had "tattoos in her pelvic area," according to the arrest affidavit.

The woman was using the bathroom when she looked at a vent in the ceiling and noticed the small camera, deputies said. She pulled out the camera, then found where the camera was plugged into an extension cord in the attic, the report said. That's when the woman called police.

Investigators said they later determined the camera was wired to a television in Martinez's room.

Deputies said Martinez admitted to putting the camera in the vent so he could see the woman's tattoos, then report them to her mother.  He said he knew this was illegal but he wanted evidence.

Martinez also said the video shows images of the naked woman, but that he could only see her breasts in the video, the report said.

Deputies arrested him, saying he installed the camera and secretly recorded the woman for his "personal gratification."

Martinez was released from the Manatee County Jail on Thursday after posting $1,500 bond.
