A 16-year-old in Manatee County wants to make a difference in the world by rapping about important messages.

Bre’Yahna Thompson known an “Breeze2yaknees,” raps about not doing drugs, the struggles of teen pregnancy, the devastating effects of gang violence and other messages important to young people.

“Maybe it could change one person’s life, maybe two," she said.

Or maybe thousands.

“I really think I could make the rap industry a better place,” said Thompson.

Soon audiences nationwide will hear Bre’Yahna rap.

About two years ago, a movie producer came into the store where her dad works and fell in love with Bre’Yahna’s rap.

“I didn’t know she was a movie producer and she says wow that’s good music right there and I said, ‘Oh yeah that’s my daughter,’” said Bre’Yahna’s father Rodney Thompson.

The producer never forgot Bre’Yahna or her lyrics. Her song is now featured in the soon to be released feature film “The Investigator.” Her song, “I’m A Tank”, was chosen because it is all about strength and never giving up.

“It is a part in the movie that was really life changing for the main character,” said Thompson.

Bre’Yahna, along with her family, had the opportunity to go to the movie premiere, mingle with celebrities and hear her song.

“It was surreal. I didn’t know what to do I wanted to scream. I wanted to cry,” she said.

“It’s kind of wild because I can’t believe her music is in the movie! It’s like it’s amazing though! It’s like very amazing,” said her younger brother Chauncey.

Bre’Yahna says this opportunity is a dream come true and she hopes other kids will be inspired by her story and her words.

“The Investigator,” airs nationwide September, 13th.
