A Wesley Chapel High School freshman was arrested Friday afternoon for filing a false police report and three counts of disrupting a school function.

The Pasco Sheriff's Office responded to Wesley Chapel High School after a female student reported to school officials and law enforcement she had some type of cut/injury, the result of an assault.

The injury was described as superficial, non-life threatening. The Pasco Sheriff's Office searched the area and determined there was no threat to the students or the school and lifted the lockdown.

Three area schools went into lockdown around 12:20 p.m. and was lifted around 1:50 p.m.. Wesley Chapel Elementary, Thomas E. Weightman Middle School and Wesley Chapel High School all went into lockdown as a precaution.

A significant number of law enforcement personnel were sent to the schools. The investigation determined there was no credible threat to the students and the stories provided by the student were very suspect and inconsistent, according to the sheriff's office. 

Deputies said the student admitted after school was dismissed that she made up the story. She was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing.
