A Tampa rental car driver had a bad morning.

A massive Oak tree toppled over onto the car in the 7100 block of north Duncan Avenue.

According to neighbors, a loud crack was heard about 7:30 a.m. One neighbor said he thought it was lightning from a passing storm.

The property owner, who does not live at the Duncan Avenue home, said the tree that fell over actually is on city property and that he has had a dispute with Tampa officials for years about the tree because he wanted it cut down.

The property owner, who did not want to talk on camera or be named, told Bay News 9 the smashed car was a rental.

No one was injured.
