As the Bay area nears its first real cold front of fall, expect partly sunny skies and lower rain chances Thursday.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, rain chances are 30 percent today.

"We will see an improvement from the recent weather with partly sunny skies today," Marquez said. "There will be a few scattered showers and thunderstorms around by this afternoon."

High temperatures today will be in the upper 80s.

Friday will be similar to today but changes are in store for the weekend.

Rain chances are 50 percent Saturday before the cold front comes through the area.

Bay area residents will feel a difference by Sunday with much cooler and drier air for the Tampa Bay area. Low morning temperatures Sunday will be in the 60s, with some 50s in the northern parts of the Bay area.
