Our weather has suddenly gotten very quiet. This is typical for the month of October.

With that said, October, historically, has had its share of hurricanes and tropical storms.

The Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea are hot spots for tropical development during October.

An area of disturbed weather in the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico, the Bay of Campeche, has developed into Tropical Depression #9.

There is also a weak cold front draped across the Florida Peninsula now. This front will be the dividing line between dry air north and more moisture south.

This front should settle south of the Bay area and keep rain chances confined to South Florida for the rest of the week.

Additionally, the tropical disturbance will keep deep moisture in place over the Caribbean and South Florida.

What this basically means is our weather will be very typically October through the upcoming weekend.

With that, you can expect some sunshine, some clouds during the day, pleasantly warm afternoons and cool to mild and comfortable mornings. Right now, it looks like we will keep rain and tropical weather away from us….for now.
