Election Day is a week away and the candidates are not the only ones in a mad dash to Nov. 4.

Hillsborough County Supervisor of Election office workers are busy preparing polling places for voters. The county will have more than 280 polling locations open on Tuesday, and it will take just about every moment until then to have them ready.

On Tuesday, election workers will load up moving trucks and send out voting machines and equipment to voting locations.

All of this prep work is still a necessity despite this year's high number of mail-in ballots.

"The numbers are really trending well," said Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer. "We've actually gotten back more vote-by-mail ballots (already) than we did during the entire 2010 election."

If you haven't early voted like more than one million Floridians have so far, here's what you need to know:

Wednesday is the last day you can request a vote-by-mail ballot. If you miss the deadline, you can visit any Supervisor of Elections office to have one printed.

Early voting is open at select locations. In Hillsborough County, there are 15 locations.

The Supervisor of Elections Office is advising voters who plan to vote on Tuesday to check their polling locations. On Election Day, you can only cast a ballot at your assigned voting precinct.
