Officials at Tampa International Airport announced Thursday a new nonstop flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
Frankfurt is one of the top international destinations for flyers in Tampa.
In the fall of 2015, Lufthansa German Airlines will begin non-stop service from TPA to Frankfurt as part of the airline's new service called "Jump," which offers low-cost long-haul flights.
The announcement is a big win for the airport. It's the fourth time in three years the airport has added an international route.
Last year, Copa Airlines launched a flight from Tampa to Panama City. In 2012, Edelweiss Air started service from Tampa to Zurich, Switzerland. In 2011, flights to Cuba resumed for the first time in a half-century.
