A third hole that opened up in Holiday this week has local residents on edge.

A depression that opened up in the 4900 block of Rosedale Lane just north of Bartelt Road on Saturday has caused at least one family to lose sleep.

"I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, so I was scared that I would sleep right through it," said Nicole Tempe, who lives on the property.

The hole, located in the subdivision of Knollwood Villiage, is 6 feet deep and 10 feet wide and near a construction zone where Pasco Utilities were working on a lift station.

"I'm kind of worried it might get bigger and want to open up over at my house," said neighbor Dustin Hopper. "You know, it's hard telling."

A vehicle was leaning into the hole before being safely towed away.

"Well they're just popping up all over the place," said neighbor Marian Kiker.

No injuries have been reported.

Work on the lift station stopped late last week as a precaution after the first sinkhole opened at 1728 Torch Drive at the Holiday Travel Park. A second opened the next day.

Residents are still not allowed to return to their homes.
