An early morning house fire in Lealman is under investigation.

Deputies responded to the fire at 3715 57th Avenue North in St. Petersburg at about 4:25 a.m. Friday. Lealman Fire personnel also responded.

According to investigators, a neighbor observed sparking and glowing on the east side of the residence and immediately started knocking on the door and woke the residents.

Deputies say the five people inside the residence were able to exit safely. One person was treated for smoke inhalation and released at the scene.

Deputies say there were also pets inside the residence; two dogs and two cats. All pets exited safely.

Detectives say the fire appears to have begun on the porch located on the east side of the home.
