Eleven days after a deadly hit-and-run crash in Clearwater, police are stepping up their search for answers.

Martin Jay Baltimore, 22, was killed Nov. 20 while driving his motorcycle on Gulf to Bay Boulevard at Hampton Road just before 8 p.m. According to police, a black car that had been traveling east turned left in front of him.

Baltimore later died at an area hospital.

The make and model of the black car is unknown. It last was seen heading north on Hampton Road. Officials said the car's rear passenger side likely has damage to it.

Police have been checking nearby businesses for possible video of the scene as well as canvassing the area for the car.

On Monday, officers went door-to-door in a nearby neighborhood, passing out fliers and asking for the public's help.

Baltimore's parents have pleaded with the public for any information.

"We do want whoever was responsible in this to know and understand, that we do understand it was an accident," said Martin's father, Thomas Baltimore. "But we just, we need you to come forward so we can have some type of closure."

In the days after the crash, Clearwater police visited area body shops to see if anyone brought in a dark-colored vehicle. That search came up empty.
