Learning circus tricks can be more than just fun. it's actually helping kids.

Juggling, twirling and flipping are a form of physical and mental training.

The Circus Arts Institute offers an opportunity to learn a new skill while trying a unique workout. But the real difference is made in what organizers call Circus Therapy.

Experts say it teachers children physical, mental and emotional teamwork.

"It's really amazing to see children who have been trying for a long time to get up to a certain strength level, or to get to a place where they're qualified to go on a certain piece of equipment or do a certain trick and just helping them get those steps and get stronger and stronger," said Hilary Riall, a teacher at the Circus Arts Institute. "They don't even realize how much they've grown until they're able to do something new."

Children learn skills such as juggling and moves on the trapeze, and that gives them the confidence to overcome everyday challenges.

Outbreak at NH school blamed on norovirus

There may be a norovirus outbreak at a New Hampshire school.

At Hampstead Central School, more than 60 children came down with a stomach bug. Thirty students stayed home from school Friday, so the school checked with the state.

Officials told them it's likely the norovirus. It causes nausea, stomach cramps and vomiting.

The school is encouraging children to wash their hands to stop the virus from spreading.

Authorities say the school has been cleaned from top to bottom.
