An 80-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Winter Haven Friday afternoon.

According to police, at approximately 12:55 p.m., a black Ford Taurus driven by 63-year-old Major Hall, of Winter Haven, was traveling north on Hwy. 17 NW.

As Hall entered the area of the Banyan Beach Motel driveway, police say a silver Hyundai Accent, driven by 80-year-old Priscilla Grabowski, of Winter Haven, entered into the path of the Taurus.

Police say the Taurus hit the Hyundai in the driver’s side resulting in both vehicles traveling into the southbound lanes.

Grabowski was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hall was taken by ambulance to Winter Haven Hospital with minor injuries.

The roadway was closed in both north and southbound directions from Havendale Blvd. to Ave. M, NW but has since reopened.
