A Hillsborough company says more people are hiring them to string up Christmas lights than ever before.

Holiday Spirits says they've been booked solid since mid-November.

Mike and Janet Miller’s home is glowing with Christmas spirit. But the retired homeowners didn't do all that decorating. Instead, they hired professionals to do the job.

"We've been married 45-years and happily married but there are times that test that and stringing Christmas lights is one of those times,” said Mike Miller.

Holiday Spirits will put up your own lights or sell you commercial lights to string up. Next season, they plan on renting lights to customers.

"We started doing this about 10 years ago, with friends and family and co-workers and just try and help people get their lights up,” said Holly Hollenbeck, with Holiday Spirits. “And this year we went commercial, and it exploded."

The Millers paid $350 for lights and $300 for the install.

"When I heard the price I said, "let's do it,” he said. "I don't have to worry about hauling out the ladder and getting up there and making sure that I've got the right clips for the tile roof."

It took the Holiday Spirits crew about four hours to string up more than 2,500 lights.

Hollenbeck said they've done 40 homes since mid-November and she's almost booked solid through December 15th.

"We have a little bit of space left but you have to get there quick. We are filling up fast. Next year, start looking for this at the end of October, so you can get in before all the space is gone,” Hollenbeck said.

The Millers say they're very pleased with finished product.

"It looks amazing. I love it,” said Janet Miller.

"It looks much better than I could've done,” said Mike Miller.

The cost for decorating a home varies based on the size of the area and how long it takes to complete the job. Holiday Spirits also decorates inside too!

Hollenbeck teamed up with Duffey Tree Care to keep their employees busy during the off season.
