A large fire Monday severely damaged St. Petersburg's Cara House, a 12-unit apartment building for people with mental health issues, addiction recovery, autism, and other challenges.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which officials said started in the attic around mid-day.

The Cara House is located at 450 5th Ave. N. According to its website, it offers supportive independent living to people with mental health issues, addiction recovery, autism and other challenges.

Medical doctors, psychologists and counselors visit the facility monthly, and a pharmacy that delivers daily, the website said.

There was no immediate information about where the displaced residents will stay.
