A body found in Tarpon Springs last Friday has been positively identified as that of a missing Citrus County man, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Billy Shuler, 69, left Homosassa last Wednesday to meet fellow coin dealer Anthony Maresca in Holiday. Shuler did not return home, and his wife reported him missing on Thursday.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation, and deputies found Shuler's truck at a storage facility in Holiday with evidence suggesting foul play.

Friday, a man's body was found in a wooded area south of B21 Liquors at 43380 U.S. 19 N in Tarpon Springs. The Medical Examiner's Office identified the body as Shuler's through fingerprint analysis, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives have not been able to locate Maresca, 51, who lives in Holiday, to question him about Shuler's death. Anyone with any information about Maresca's whereabouts or the case is asked to call Tampa Bay Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 or visit Pasco sheriff's office website at PascoSheriff.us.
