Chris Gregg is running as a Republican for the State House District 36 seat, which covers part of western Pasco County.

1. Why are you running for this office?

Our kids and grandkids deserve a better future. The current trends of increased taxes and debt coupled with the lack of new jobs has to stop! District 36 needs to change course and start doing what is in the best interest of our kids and grandkids.

2. Why do you think you are the best qualified candidate for the office?

Having served in the military, I bring leadership skills and a work ethic that will enable me to accomplish our goals. For the first time in over 20 years the voters of District 36 will have the opportunity to send a Veteran to Tallahassee to fight for our community.

We need a candidate that can win in the general election and there are enough Democrat and Independent Veteran voters that can unseat the lone Democrat in Pasco. We also need a Republican in District 36 that can work with the Republican House, Senate and Governor.

3. If you are elected, what will be your top priorities?

The number one issue is jobs and has been for years. Every option on bringing jobs to District 36 is on the table. We can’t afford to lose jobs to other counties or states.

The second issue is insurance costs, we need to bring more qualified insurance companies to the marketplace to help lower insurance costs and increase the quality of service and coverage.

Thirdly, Duke Energy needs to build the nuclear power plant or return the money they collected.
