Families in Pinellas County can take advantage of a free laundry service.

Current of Tampa Bay Inc. is returning to St. Petersburg this weekend to host its Laundry Project for local low-income families. The group will provide families with the items necessary to wash their clothes.

The community-based artist organization DMG School Project is sponsoring the event. The group will provide free glass-etching classes as well as a sandblasting demonstration for children of the families who are receiving the laundry services.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Pete's Wash House located at 1810 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St.

Members of the public can also help by making donations of detergent, quarters (in rolls of $10), one-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books and crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets.
