Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in the death of another man in a fight Friday evening in Largo.

Largo police responded to the Royal Pines Condominiums on East Bay Drive and Bedford Drive around 5:30 p.m. after neighbors reported a fight. They found Marvin Neil Haddock, 26, dead.

According to witnesses, an argument began outside of an apartment, and Yantis asked Haddock to step inside. Both men continued to argue, and they challenged each other to a fight, police said Saturday.

At some point, Yantis retrieved a knife and sliced Haddock's arm, police said.

Yantis was told to drop the knife "by all parties involved," but he proceeded to fatally stab Haddock, police said.

Yantis was taken to the Pinellas County Jail and was being booked on a murder charge.
