Winn Webb is running for the District 4 seat on the Citrus County Commission.

1. Why are you running for this office?

Watching the Citrus County Commission over the past year, one becomes acutely aware that real leadership is needed. NOW!

As a lifelong resident of Citrus County and with four generations of my family here, my roots run deep and I care about Citrus County’s future for generations to come.

2. Why do you think you are the best qualified candidate for the office?

I am the only candidate running in the District 4 commission race who is an honorably discharged Navy veteran, a former business owner, a retired Deputy Sheriff and who has previously been elected to a county office.

While serving the citizens of Citrus County from 2008 to 2012 as their elected County Commissioner, I was instrumental in reducing taxes, while at the same time, reducing the county budget by nearly $48 million, and all with little or no loss of services.

My proven conservative leadership style is clearly what is needed on the commission at this time.

3. If you are elected, what will be your top priorities?

  1. Keep taxes low and stable, in order to protect our large population of senior citizens on fixed incomes and young working families who are struggling in the current uncertain economy.
  2. To increase the attractiveness of Citrus County to new business and economic development.
  3. To bring and create new jobs to Citrus County. (#2 will help to accomplish #3)
  4. To provide much needed stability and civility to, an at times, dysfunctional Board of County Commission.
