A former Hernando County teacher is headed to prison.
Cynthia Herr, 36, was sentenced to six years behind bars for having sex with a teenage boy.
Even when she gets out, she'll be watched by the state.
Herr has to serve nine years of sexual offender probation.
According to Bay News 9's partner paper the Tampa Bay Times, Herr cried during her hearing today.
Herr taught at J.D. Floyd K-8 School in Spring Hill.
Investigators said the 16-year-old she had sex with, was a friend of her daughter's.
As part of her sentence, Herr also has to give up her teaching certificate.
